An unexpected message from Mike Taylor’s family!

Just a few days ago, quite out of the blue, one of Mike’s cousins, Ross Kennedy, got in touch with me after discovering and reading my biography on his uncle.

As I believe what I have written is of public interest, I am sharing it on these pages:

"Hi Luca,
I have just read your excellent book about Mike Taylor, who was my father’s cousin. We got talking about him on a family holiday, which led to an internet deep dive and the discovery of your book - we had no idea there had been relatively recent interest in him and new releases.

Anyway, my father remembers him and his wife Ann well, and there are a few things we thought you might like to know about him.

My father’s beloved stepmother Catherine Kift was Mike’s aunt, the son of her older sister Joan. Joan did not die in the 1940s - she remarried a an ex army Colonel called Bill Viney and survived until the early eighties.

Mike and Terry’s sister was Celia (not sure where the name Muriel is from). Celia married an American called Stephen Senzer and they lived in NY state. Not sure if she’s still alive.

My granny Catherine died in the early 2000s. We still have her original copy of Pendulum.

Perhaps most interestingly, Catherine and Joan’s father (and Mike’s grandfather) was Alec Arthur Kift, a noted wireless pioneer who worked very closely with Marconi - there’s loads of interesting info about him on the web.

Kind regards,

Ros."
